Textures & Boarders

Textures;

I decided to use these columns from a previous shoot as its repetitive and so are the glass windows in the new building. I did Juxtaposition without even realising, however, I think it worked out pretty well. Nevertheless, I think the saturation of the blue of the sky, takes away from the buildings. I could go back and turn the contrast and brightness down to try keep the levels even.

I chose this texture of a glass roof to overlay on an old chapel wall because of the rectangular shapes of the stones. Also, I didn't want any other colour besides the colour of the stained glass reflection, as I wanted that to be the main focus of the image as it isn't your regular reflection.

For this texture, I wanted to experiment with the different textures on photoshop. So, I simply just changed the textures in the filter gallery. I actually like the overall look of this as it gives the impression of canvas.

For the last texture, I wanted to try layer the image over the texture, instead of layering the texture over the image. The texture is the grains of the background image, very dainty but it still has a good effect of texture.

Boarders;
For boarders, I chose to do similar colour to the colour in my images. This way, my boarder was noticeable but wasn't in your face. I like the sprayed effect for the boarders as it fades into the image.

I did the same with this boarder also, however I wish I would've made it more lighter as the image is quite dark. This would of made the boarder stand out a little more so it was obvious of what technique I was using.

For these last two, because of the colours being very bright and vibrant I wanted to do a very dull boarder. I did try doing dark yellow, dark green and dark red however, it drew away from the contrast of the main colours. Also, I tried white but again, it didn't fit. So, black was the obvious choice.
