Because this project was about movement, we didn't just want one pose or a perfect outline. So, instead, we wanted to make the person look like she was moving, but without her actually moving. Personally, I think this idea worked quite well as the arm on the left, has outlines that are slightly before the actual arm, and the right side of the body is more filled in with the light, making it look like the shadow and giving it depth.
As one of the most famous light painters is Gjon Mili and one of his most famous works was his signature, I wanted to take inspiration from his work and put it into my own.
This was the first picture we took so we didn't want to do anything overly hard. From this one picture we learnt a lot about how to use our light source (iPhone tourch). As you can see, the image on the left has come out pretty well however, the image on the right is just a smear of light. So, from looking bck on the image the person on the right adjusted the phone so the light was facing straight into the lens and the picture below was the outcome.
As you can see, both of the images came out very well, so we continued to hold the light source I this way. However, there was still some unwanted light coming off the drawings so we turned the light down a little and the image below was the result.
As you can see, the lighting is a lot better an you can not see any shape of the room in the background. This was very important because we wanted a block black background s the light stands out even more which, in my opinion worked very well.
